The Fairyhill Ghost
Very little is known about the mysterious woman in the window except that, the slope at Fairyhill was the place a local man caught sight of the ghostly figure. The identity of this credulous man is in itself a mystery. It seems the sighting of a person from the other-world had enough influence to stay in local folklore for many generations.
The walk up to Fairyhill on a dark night is rather unsettling. The reeds that surround the Sow River at this part of its journey rustle in the slightest breeze. Crossing Mag’s Bridge any lone walker is sure to check over their shoulder. A tall female ghost dressed head to toe in black is said to wander these parts too. Is she the woman in the window…?
